PPC Advertising & Google Ads Management
WHAT IS PPC ADVERTISING
A brief breakdown of what PPC (Pay-Per-Click) advertising and what Google Ads are.
What is PPC?
“Pay-per-Click (PPC),” “Search Engine Marketing,” “AdWords,” “Google Ads,” “Sponsored Links.” All these terms mean about the same thing: paying to advertise on a search engine’s results page.
When someone enters a term into a search engine like Google, companies have the opportunity to bid on having their advertisements displayed on the search results page.
It doesn’t cost anything for the ad to display on the page, but it does cost when someone clicks on the ad – hence the commonly used name “Pay-Per-Click.”
The company that bids the highest price for the click usually gets placed at the top of the page. And the top position gets the highest number of clicks.
What is the Purpose of PPC?
PPC is used to directly achieve specific goals (sales, listings or other targets). The reason is that PPC ads can target, through the use of appropriate keywords and display sites, a carefully selected and qualified audience.
PPC allows businesses to connect directly to their target audience by using advertising and visual campaigns across the web while increasing traffic to their site.
What Is Google Ads?
Google Ads is the pay-per-click management system for Google. The price of each click is determined by an auction process for each keyword or keyword phrase. If there are many companies bidding for the same phrase, then the cost per click will tend to be much higher. If there are only a few companies bidding on a phrase, then the cost can be very low.

What Are Search Ads?
It is perhaps the form of advertising that comes to mind when we talk about Google AdWords, the most used Google advertising platform. When we talk about Google Search Ads, we refer to the option of displaying a text ad on the results page that is shown to the user when performing a specific search.
We choose the keyword (s) for which we would like to advertise and we only pay when a user clicks on our ad (the cost is calculated with a system based on the concept of auctions). These text ads have evolved over time, and now they adapt completely to the different devices on which they are visualized (both in form and functionality).
What Are Display Ads?
It is the other most used form of Google AdWords. In this case, Google puts at your disposal its catalogue of websites and platforms (also mobile apps) ascribed to the Google platform (through the Google AdSense).
We can make use of various types of ads (banners, text, videos, etc.) and we can choose where to appear based on different criteria that the platform allows (by context, by location, by themes, etc.).
In this case, we can choose to pay for each click received or for every thousand impressions of our ads.

Strategy
Ultimately, the effectiveness of Pay-Per-Click advertising comes down to your strategy. If you have a very targeted set of keywords, and well written ads with a well written website, then you have a good strategy. If there is a disconnect between your keywords, your ads, and your website, then profitability can be difficult.
